About This File

This patch will "upgrade" your game to a 64-bit version.

For the most part, this means the game will be able to use more than 3 Gb of RAM on 64-bit operating systems and will probably run more smoothly in crowded or heavily furnished rooms.

There is probably no point to use this patch if you have less than 4 Gb of free RAM for the game to use.

This patch updates the Unity engine runtime files, so it will only work for a specific Unity version the game has been compiled with, which means it will work for any version of 3DXChat as long as the devs don't update the engine (usually this happens with every "long-waited" update :) ).

Since only the Unity's engine is updated, this mod should be compatible with any dll modifications, use them as usual.

Currently supported 3DXChat versions are:

367, 368, 369, 370, 371, 372, 374, 375, 376, 377, 378, 379, 380, 381, 382, 383, 384, 385, 386, 387, 388, 389, 390 (use the patch version 380).

  1. Download the patch for the desired game version.
  2. Go to your game's installation folder.
  3. Rename or move somewhere the file 3DXChat.exe.
  4. Go to the 3DXChat_Data subfolder.
  5. Rename or move somewhere the Mono folder.
  6. Rename or move somewhere the Plugins folder.
  7. Extract the patch archive file to the game's root folder. You now should have a new set of 64-bit versions of 3DXChat.exe, 3DXChat_Data\Mono and 3DXChat_Data\Plugins instead of the old ones.
  8. Play :)

You can of course just extract the patch and overwrite everything, but you will need the old files to update the game later. The Patcher will fail if you try to update the game with this patch installed, and you will have to completely reinstall the game.

What's New in Version 382   See changelog

Updated to Unity version 5.5.5-p2, which should work for game patches 380 and above (until next update).

If you have a 64-bit OS you should be using this to speed the game up.

Not had a single problem since using the 64-bit version yet, good job Alex! xD

Can't seem to get this to work for the following reasons.

- I can't find "3dxchat.exe."  in my folders.

- I don't understand this step "Extract the patch archive file to the game's root folder"

- After i try to launch it after taking the steps (as i think i should have), i get an error telling me there should be a "3dxchat_data" nect to "the file"

Can you help me out?

The game's root folder is where you have installed the game. It's the location of the 3DXChat.exe file the launch shortcut leads to. You should extract files to this location replacing the originals.

Cant make it work.... the following error message appears:

Failed to load PlayerSettings (internal index #0).
Most likely data file is corrupted, or built with mismatching
editor and platform support versions.

You have either messed up your files, or are trying to apply a wrong version of the patch to a wrong version of the game.

Many many THANKS Alex! Works like a charm! All Rooms so smooth, mem stays to ~600mb form ~900+ was before. I use 12gb on pc. Solved my PC overheating and noise problems. Wonder WHY official 3dxChat version doesn't include this one small change. Thank you VERY much again! :)

Hi Alex,

Thanks for making the 64-bit version. Running under build 374 with no issues. Didn't realize the game was still 32-bit, until I saw the lag issue. Checked memory usage and it was up about to about 500 MB, started lagging bad. Installed this patch, issues disappeared. Only time I see lag is in a room with lots of folks in it.

Thanks,  PJ

It's doing really great :D but sometimes some rooms stutter a bit, I've got 16 GB of ram and I try to minimize any workload while playing the game. Just hope it gets updated real quick for patch 371.

I tested it a bit and had no problems. I noticed that I get 2-3 FPS more. Not much but better as nothing.

What I wonder if the 64 bit version also will work for room hosts. Since it was done for an older 3dx version I wonder if the radio bug is fixed?!
