About This File
A work full of experiments with color and its innumerable nuances, with squares, full of squares, with straight lines or geometric figures, that appeal to the senses and emotion of the viewer. The exploration of the principles of color begins, on this occasion, through two differentiated focuses of concentric squares. Based on a mathematical scheme, Albers configures the image from quadrangular planes of superimposed colors, blue, orange and pink in the center and gray on the periphery, creating different optical effects of advance and retreat, with the intention of attracting attention of the viewer about the singularities and the functioning of vision. Albers said 'The painting is looking at you'.
As in most of his work, geometric forms abound in relation to the pictorial plane and the absence of any content or meaning.
