im having an issue with the world picture program when i try to load a picture all my pictures or any other file it says is not there, but regularly it is there, just not with the world picture program. know why?

I have been trying to import some text with great difficulty. 3DX seems to be so fragile now that it will just freeze or quit with file sizes it used to handle. So i made it alot smaller and those problems were solved BUT any image you import this way you cant see from very far away ie when you Cam close the image or whatever you imported will appear but when you Cam away to any distance the image will vanish. Pretty pointless.
