Introducing the new line of Trubblemaker Skycars, the MK14. This is the first edition of the MK14, "The Hornet".
More editions of the MK14 Skycar to come! Canada Day Edition, Stealth Edition, Police Edition, and more! Stay tuned!
Suitable for flying in atmosphere or space or in busy skyways, the MK14 features 4 powerful ion drive thrusters, 8 maneuvering thruster nozzles, variable sweep wings, VTOL capability, and retractable landing gear.
Not just a pretty prop, the MK14 is a fully enclosed vehicle which you and your lover(s) can sit in!
Contains 8 versions of the same Skycar in different poses (pick the one you want and discard the rest):
Flying low speed
Flying high speed
Flying ultra high speed
Landing/takeoff
Landed Both Doors Closed
Landed Both Doors Open
Landed Left Door Open
Landed Right Door Open
Location: World Center at 100 meters in the air (0, 100, 0). Shouldn't interfere with your existing world when merging unless you have built stuff very high. Look for the flashing platform in the sky, the Skycars on on top.
How to get inside:
The "glass" of the MK14 is just a flattened Curtain, so you can walk through it.
The flying versions of the sky car come with Portal teleporters, so just place one portal on the ground. The other side is on the hood of the skycar, just select a seat and click a pose. NOTE: The driver and passenger seats only accommodate the "laid back" chair pose, the others will look weird.
The Landed versions have invisible steps next to each closed door, just walk up and choose your seat. The open doors have a visible ramp you can walk up.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Do not attempt to select and move all 8 cars at once. This can crash 3dx.
The MK14 is highly detailed, each Skycar is a single group at 590 KB, so for low to mid range computers you will experience some lag when selecting and moving your selected car, just be patient and let it catch up to your inputs. When rotating, make sure your rotation is set to CENTER and not Pivot.
I suggest when merging your car into your scene you perform this best practice to avoid accidentally selecting and moving the wrong things:
1) Make a cube x: 7.9 (length) y: 6.3 (width) z:2.6 (height) and place it in your world where you want your skycar to be.
2) Put another small cube marking the direction you want the car to face (relative to the length)
2) Group the cubes, make sure they are still selected, and save as a selection (Save Selection As).
3) Open the SkyCar world file on its own and merge the cubes you just made into it.
4) Pick the Skycar you want to use, discard the rest (and the platform).
5) If you see "Pivot" along the top, change it to "Center". If you see "Global" along the top, change it to "Local".
6) Move and rotate the skycar so it fits inside your cube.
7) Delete the cubes
8 ) Save As (give it a distinct name, don't save over the main skycar file or you will have to download it again).
9) Load your scene (if you accidentally saved it with the cubes just delete them).
10) Merge in the file you saved with the repositioned Skycar. If you are satisfied, save.
