Modz Gold Member JOHNMAL Posted June 8, 2018 Modz Gold Member Share Posted June 8, 2018 does anyone know if you can import playlists from spotify?
Guest Chasan
That I believe is possible.... I could be wrong. Alex Ryder or Shay would be the one that I know of as of now to answer this. I am sure other Modz Team members know as well, but those two names come to mind right away. You can PM them this question.
Guest Chasan
See knew someone would have an answer. Shay is a very popular DJ and knows tons about the software / streaming / and all the elements that go into being a great DJ. @Shay Thanks for the feedback! Modz Gold Member Sirrin Posted July 9, 2018 Modz Gold Member Share Posted July 9, 2018 (edited) I used spotify for streaming audio to my room before and only the audio from spotify not any other PC sounds, this all assumes windows 10 is being used. 1) You need a virtual audio device that can be used as a input, for this case I use Virtual Audio Cable (VB-Cable) 2) You need broadcasting software, for this I use "butt", it just works 3) You need a place to broadcast to, there are multiple options for this, I personally use a icecast server (I host my own one on my pc since I just use it for friends) Then what you do is this 1) Start playing your audio, then open "sound settings", go down to "app volume and device preferences", you then set "output" to your virtual audio cable, eg for spotify. 2) On your broadcast software select input as the virtual audio cable 3) Broadcast You will only hear what you are playing through 3dx but thats how I do it. Edit: You can use other third party programs (I think audio router is one) to do this but they dont work as nicely Edited July 9, 2018 by Sirrin

I'm using this same method and it seems to be playing, but I can't hear it due to the fact that the default device is the virtual cable. I've tried setting it to output for the default device, but no dice. Any suggestions? Edited March 21, 2019 by Naythun
Modz Gold Member Michael Friga Posted October 5, 2020 Modz Gold Member Share Posted October 5, 2020 I used Musconvtool to import playlists from Spotify. It was quick and most easiest way to do it.
Modz Gold Member Kmads Posted November 20, 2020 Modz Gold Member Share Posted November 20, 2020 (edited) Not sure if this is useful or not, or if you all already know this but you can now use spotify to play music in the rooms, not sure how long you've been able to but I've done it since summer. Ohh, and silly me I just saw that Sirrin posted how to. I can add my quick little guide as wellStreaming_Spotify.txt Edited November 20, 2020 by Kmads updated & added file
